Hey Arif,
Best location to book a hotel in Gangtok is within a 1-2 KM of Mall Road. You can book with OYO or MMT.
For cheap accommodation book a zostel or hostel at www.hostelworld.com.
Don't skip North Sikkim tour at any condition.

Gangtok is one of the most modern and populated cities of Sikkim. Even then its beauty is incomparable. The complete city is located on a mountain. Book a hotel that provided a view from a vantage point.
YES. Directly from your room’s window, you can see mountains, snake-like roads and para-gliders floating in air passing by my window. It was magic.
The hotel name was VALLEY VISTA RESORT.

It is only a few kilometers away from MG Road. Honestly, don’t stay nearby MG Road as many people on Tripoto are suggesting. It's noisy and crowded with travelers. This hotel faces mountains and provides a breathtaking view from all sides.
