For the hill station you can go to Sikkim (Especially North sikkim),Shillong(Cheerapunji,Dawki).And if u want to go to Desert,Best is go to jaiselmar because peak season is just one month away so You can get everything at budget level now.

Hi Aman, Though the weather is clear and roads are open, but still if you want to avoid high end regions in Himachal. You can visit other places in low end areas with your friends/family. Situation is under control now. To avoid crowd at popular places visit:- 1. Kanatal & Tehri - Uttarakhand (2-3 days)
2. Chail & Kufri - Himachal (3-4 days)
3. Narkanda & Hatu Peak - Himachal (3-4 days)
4. Bhimtal & Mukteshwar - Uttarakhand (2-3 days)
5. Jaipur & Bundi - Rajasthan (4-5 days)
6. Orchha - Madhya Pradesh (3 days) October is an amazing time to travel in hills as the weather is pleasant during these days. Carry good and warm jackets/sweaters for night.
