I would suggest selecting a natural place like Himachal or even South India, where you can travel using cheap local transportation and stay in small villages.

Plan a solo trip to some under rated places in himachal or uttrakhand.
you can get good food and accommodation in cheap prices. may be then you will fain a confidence to travel solo
