You can go to Mahabaleshwar...Its not too far from Pune...Its a very good place to visit in the weekends.

Mahabaleshwar and panchgini you can visit. 2 days is enough to visit both the places and it's cheap as well. food is also cheap there and it has good view.

In Pune or Maharastra itself you can visit Tarkarli ( Scuba Diving), Diveagar Beach, Mahabaleshwar - Panchgani, Ganpatiphule beach , Lonavla resorts and waterfall.

Hey buddy. You can try for pawna lake camping or Bhandardara lake camping with adventure activities. Also you can go for kolad water sport adventure.

- You can visit kashid beach, there are buses from pune directly to alibaug and then kashid

-Murud
-lonavala
-Mumbai
-lohagad fort
- Lavasa
There are endless amount of forts and yes; mostly these places are reachable by public transport. So , plan accordingly instead of wasting of your savings over cabs

May in surrounding Maharashtra will be way hotter. you can go to Mahabaleshwar, pancgani or vai.

My suggestion will be to choose between Hasrihareshwar beach or Pachgani
