I may suggest you to take a bus to Manali which may fetch you extra energy to explore the richness of Leh Ladakh highway which is one of the adventurous road to take a bike ride, you'll experience a fantasy ride if you go through bike which you can be rented in Manali, so that you can plan in low budget also... Since renting in Manali can help you get gate pass easy.
