If you love ocean then Goa is a good option & if you are a mountain lover then Himachal is a perfect place for you. Here you can go to Manali, Solang valley, Kasol, Manikaran etc. And if it's your day then you can see the snowfall.

I think you should plan a great new year trip including 2-3 states with their famous tourist and historical places. As you are from Pune you can plan a tour including Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka. You can visit all beaches of Goa and Gokarna, You can visit all famous temples of these states, you can visit all historical places, forts and you can also go on the top of hills or mountains of these states. This is the best idea according to me. You are free to choose. Happy journey :-)
