Hey Pradipan , Kaza is the headquarters of Spiti. Now you can reach Kaza either by Manali or by Shimla. So Delhi-Manali-Kaza or Delhi-Shimla-Kaza should be good routes for you . You can have a look at the below travelogues for detailed help with Spiti : Spiti Packages : https://spitiholidayadventure.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIh7zQu6Sp3wIVAyQrCh0wHA_FEAAYASAAEgJPpvD_BwE Spiti Blogs : https://www.travelmax.in/how-to-reach-spiti-valley/

You can pretty much manage everything in Rs.1000 a day in Spiti. As Dec will be off-season prices for hotels will be lowest so you can get a good deal. I would not suggest you travel directly to Kaza from Shimla. You can spend a day in between at Kalpa. As Rohtang pass is closed due to heavy snowfall so you have to take Shimla to Kaza via Tabo. Happy Travelling!!

Hey Pradipan, Best and most scenic route to reach Spiti Valley is via Manali. You can also do a round trip: Manali->Spiti Valley->Shimla. Best time to visit Spiti is from June -September as road via Manali remains closed in the rest of the months but you can visit via Shimla in winters. Hope this would help you. Happy travelling!!!

Hi Pradi You will only one route to kaza through shimla, as manali route will be closed this time, as shimla route is double the distance than manali route, but if you have time you can just go for it.

Hi, winter is harsh in Spiti, the temperature drop below -30 degrees. Only Kinnaur route is open during winter months, you can get the bus going to Kaza from Reckong Peo. Also everything is going to be very costly and few hotels would be open. Also do keep buffer days, as there are chances of roads getting blocked because of snow.
