I don't know of any elephant safari at Kanha Tiger Reserve (Madhya Pradesh). U need to book a Maruti Gypsy for the safari, either for the morning or for the evening or both. Bookings are done from all MPTDC offices across India, as well as through their website. Guide fee is included in the package, for the Guide who will accompany u during the safari. Try to book the Safari in the Core Zone and during the Summer.

Wen I went a couple of years v back elephant safari in kanha was already banned..and I am sure now also it's not allowed.. you can take a jeep safari.. it can be either shared one or a fully personalized one.. you would cut down on your cost it it's a shared one.. and believe me the experience you get exploring the jungles and by taking in the fresh air is fantabulous.. try out the morning safari, thought getting up so early would be a little difficult but you will see a serenity you have witnessed never before.. also Break fast in the jungle on the gypsy is one of it's kind experience..

The personal gypsy would cost you about 8500.. If you book it through your hotel people it would be a hassle free task.. else standing in the que at the tourism office would be a little hideous one.. and if you share the cost.. than 6 people can be accomadated in a gypsy, so per head cost would close to 1500 .
