March is considered as the favorable month for a winter trip to Spiti valley and for several good reasons. There will be plenty of snow all around. Chances of a heavy snowfall and roads getting blocked for long duration will be considerably less in March.

Yes you can go via Shima - kinnar Route, However, you cannot visit chandratal.

Doesn't make any sense as you won't be able to complete. the circuit... wait till May end.. if doing half circuit is okay then you can visit. it's safe!

March is ideally preferred by most, as the chances of road blocks are less and Spiti still has a lot snow to enjoy at that time.

Yes it is. but u cannot go via manali. only route would be chandigarh -shimla-rampur-recongpeo-nako-kaza
