Hi, Kasol experiences moderate to heavy snowfall in Dec-Jan. You might get stuck on roads/places due to the snowfall. The best time will be from April-May, when snow starts melting and again Oct- mid Nov.
Firstly, it will be deserted. You can go if you want to see the beauty wrapped in snow but not many shops and people.
During January, the temperature is lowest and thus the Kasolians (Israelis and French) fly to other parts like Goa and Varanasi and will return from March onwards.
But Yeah you will get some really cheap tour packages for Kasol in January because tourist attraction is quite less these days.
Definitely!! It will be covered with snow and be at it’s beautiful best and also it will be less crowded that any other time of the year. At this time it will make for a peaceful and worthy stay.
What I'd like to say from my personal experience is that the best time for visiting the mountains is in winters only- when they are at their realest self. And a place like Kasol- it has so much to offer at this time. The crowd is gonna be a little less, but I guess that's the beauty of it. And don't just be in Kasol- there are so many places to explore around that region- Tosh, Kutla, Rasol, Katagla. So yes, step out, do visit the place. And just be a little careful.
I am really happy to know that you are planning a trip to Kasol. You will find nature at its best. It is still a virgin destination. You will be mesmerized to witness the snow capped mountains and December, January Kasol experiences snow fall. But the road conditions will not be good, some roads may remain blocked due to heavy snowfall.
