Kasol is ver good to relax and chill out but for non-smokers its tough. As people visiting here are mostly to have weed and smoking + drinking. So you wont find a family type places here.

Hey Amber, Kasol is a very nice place for nature lover. It's not necessary that you have to smoke there. When I visited there in June 2018 I noticed that some people were not smoking. You can sit by the side of the river and can also take camps there. This is my simple itinerary of Parvati Valley : https://www.tripoto.com/trip/covertheparvativalleyin7days-5bab66898dbe9?ref=mobwapp&source=awp Happy travelling!!!!!

Kasol is nothing on its alone. If you really want serenity go ahead to tosh or pulga. Both are 14 and 16 km away from kasol and also require track of 3km. There you can find many cafe and they charge 400–500 per room with chimney(wood burned room heater). If you are planning a trip for 6 days then first stay at tosh for one day then track for kheerganga from there it will be 5hours track on an average.stay there in kheerganga in any cafe having almost same rates for a day, you can bargain. Dont forget to take hot water spring bath in kheerganga. Next day, fourth day morning pack your bags and go to pulga 7–8 hours track in between parvati valley. Stay in cafe for one day enjoy the different view and serenity of hill. Happy Travelling!!
