I don't know about that. I just happen to know that the trek is a bit difficult for newbie trekkers. You may see this answer thread on Quora. Might be helpful: https://www.quora.com/Is-Kheerganga-Trek-open
Hi Nilanka, The kheerganga trek is still open, but the stay has been banned by the government owing to the increase in garbage and negligent behaviour of tourists regarding trash disposal. You may still find a place to rest your head at the Dharamshala, at kheerganga. Please check the weather condition before you go.
Hey Nilanka,
The kheerganga trek is still open. I was there in 2nd week of october and everything is still operating up there. Regarding stay options :
1) There are many tents already pitched up there which will cost you around 300-400/night excluding food.
2) Apart from tent there are 6-7 cabins as well on the right side of the hot spring which will cost you around 200-300/night which will provide you dinner as well !
3) You can carry your tent if you want It's a one day trek. It would be better if you start early as it will take 5-6 hours(depending on your speed) to reach at the top so if you even reach by 3 in the afternoon you have some time to explore the top. Extra Tip : carry only things that you actually need and carry lots of water as there is not much cafes in between and if you find it'll charge you double .
Thanks a lot Vedant for the detailed information. I was planning for Nov but due to some issues won't be possible. But for next year it is on the list. thanks again for the information
Happy Travelling
