Yes, don't worry. It's a good road. It's 1400km and most of it express highway. Some parts being in maintenance. Consider full day drive so 2x 12hrs is reasonable. Average speed is 60km which means most of the road is on good condition. Consider leaving at 4AM from Delhi. You'll gain a lot of time leaving the city early.

Yes, it is good for travelling. But according it take lots of time to reach destination. So it better to travel through train.
