Heavy rainfall in hill regions can cause landslides which is why it can be unsafe but if you are travelling by car, make sure that you check with someone in advance what the situation of the roads in the areas you intend to go through are.

I am visiting Gangtok Lachen and Lachung with my wife starting Sept 19 or 20. Any other couple visiting these places on the same dates ? We can book a cab together on TTMM basis rather than opting for 10 seater shared package. It would be cost effective
