here is the link to my blog for both pondi and kodai. For kodaikanal two days are more than enough and a little suggestion don't take taxi if you really wish to enjoy that place and if you can walk. Walk to all the view points as all of them are on one road only. You'll see a kodai like never before. Then keep your remaining days for pondi as there are places where you will wish to go back again and again in pondi and do visit aurovile.

Sri Lanka is a beautiful country and offers much to explore. There is a long list of offbeat things to do in Sri Lanka. I'd like to share my personal favourites with you.
Chug up on the slow blue train that runs between Kandy to Ella. This train offers scenic ride views of tea plantations, intersecting streams, pristine waterfalls, pine forests and mountain tunnels.
Visit Galkadawala, which is a small countryside village and Sri Lanka's best-kept secret. This place is a forest lodge with an oasis by the village lake, made up of recycled material. You can spot colourful birds in the mini-forest and savour delicious meals with home-grown veggies.
Do not miss out on enjoying Sri Lanka's rich culinary awesomeness. Try out hoppers with its endless forms, some served with potato curry and coconut sambol. Pol Rotti, Yeast Rotti, Kothu, curries and rice are enough reasons to visit Sri Lanka over again.
Trincomalee, popularly known as Trinco has Sri Lanka's most beautiful beaches - Nilaveli and Uppuveli. This place is located on the east coast and you can spot dolphins and blue whales here. It is a great spot for diving and yet untouched by a flock of travellers.

UpvoteCommentSingapore is a small country such that you can manage your trip on your own, but since the hotels provide only breakfast, you might be forced to have lunch and dinner on your own if you are on your own, The people are friendly and very supportive, but since the group consists of 2 senior citizens, its better if you go on a packaged tour, that way you get to cover more places and the main issue of transportation and food will be void.

You have the most common shot which can be taken facing the front of the Taj Mahal, but it is an angle done to death. Mehtab Bagh is a good place for some awesome photos, specially during sunrise. You can get lovely pictures of the Taj Mahal during sunset from across the Yamuna River, or if you take a Yamuna River boat tour. Paradise Park is another great spot to capture the structure, specially during sunrise. Inside the complex, any angle would give you a better picture if you capture people for a sense of scale in it as well.
Additionally, the Pietra Dura is an interesting spot to click photos. You can get some great shots in the structures to left and right of the Taj Mahal. The one to the left is an operating mosque that you can visit.
