Winters - October to February is an ideal times to visit northeast. Summers are hot, while rains are heavy making winter chill and best time to visit.

Hi Rahul, North-east is usually always pleasant. You'll enjoy snowfall in winters and the summers are very pleasant and cold too. Although, in case travelling in rains sound inconvenient to you, then you might want to avoid travelling during monsoons.

It actually changes from state to state in Northeast. But I personally prefer summers so that you can have the clear views for photography though you miss lot of waterfalls in meghalaya

NorthEast is beautiful all year round. You can plan based on the state you are visiting or perhaps the festivals that you would like to attend (like Zero). For Instance, Meghalaya is amaaazing in the rainy season, the waterfalls all around are in full swing and worth watching. But if you are more into treks you might wanna avoid rainy season as some treks get closed. Dawki river side camping is also an experience in itself and is not open during rainy season. So all in all, think of what you want to do and which state you want to explore and then decide the time. Happy Traveling! :)

Northeast consists of 7 states so you need to 1st decide which state you want to explore though in many cases you might have to land in Guwahati first. someone has already answered in terms of season but the variable that you need to keep in mind is the state, as the terrain will vary from each other and while Assam remains the most developed in terms of transport the others are not far behind. so choose your state 1st then look for the season and how it fares then.
