Hi, If you're planning to explore North Sikkim, then you can start from Gangtok and cover Lachung, Lachen, Yumesamdong and Guru Dongmar (depending on when you plan to go!) Roads in higher altitude might not be open in the winters. In case you plan to explore West Sikkim, you can go to Pelling, Yuksom, Darap village, Khecheopalri, Ravangla etc. In East Sikkim, you can again start from Gangtok and explore Tsomgo Lake, Nathu La Pass, Rumtek Monastery, Tukla Valley, Nathang Valley, Jelep La, Hanuman Tok, Tashi View Point etc. Hope you have a great time exploring Sikkim :)

Hey Akshay, Sikkim is absolutely stunning, and this is a particularly wonderful time to visit the state. Since winter is just setting in, I would suggest that you explore the elusive North Sikkim. The itinerary that you may follow is: Gangtok -- Lachung -- Yumthang Valley -- Zero Point -- Lachen -- Thangu -- Gurudongmar Lake -- Lachen -- Gangtok. While each place has something truly unique to offer, Yumthang Valley, Zero Point and Gururdongmar Lake are sure to stun you with their beauty. Yumthang Valley is known as the Valley of Flowers of the East, Zero Point is the last motorable point between the Indo-China border and Gurudongmar Lake is a holy lake situated at a whopping 17,800 ft.. If you plan to visit North Sikkim, remember you will have to apply for a permit and you can only visit it with a travel group / tour operator. Have a great trip!

I have been to Sikkim about 8 times and I have covered the west, south and north of Sikkim. I would suggest a few places in each area, but it also depends on how many days you are planning to spend there, especially because traveling from one place to another in Sikkim easily takes 2-6 hours via car. Then it also depends on whether you like to go to places which are a little close to the hustle and bustle or that are really quite and remote. Nonetheless, I would recommend some places that are definitely worth visiting like: 1. Pelling- Offers a REALLY GREAT view of the Kanchenjunga range, has good enough hotels, not too remote and not too crowded. 2. Tsomgo Lake- If you love snow, yak rides and partly frozen lakes, then this place is for you. It is also the Indo-China Border and you can actually see the Chinese soldiers on the other side. 3. Gurudongmar Lake- At 17,000 ft high, its really picturesque and beautiful. However, if you suffer from asthma, it is best to consult a doctor and then go. 4. Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary- If you love trekking and flowers, you shouldn't miss this! There are many other places, but do let me know what exactly you're looking for in this trip and do ask questions if you have any! :)
