Seattle is a great place to see, and Portland, OR, is just a couple of hours south. But between Portland, OR and San Francisco is a 10hr freeway drive, slower if you take a coastal route. San Francisco Bay Area - great natural beauty, great food, and cultural organizations, wine tasting. Salinas - Museum devoted to John Steinbeck. Monterey - great aquarium and scenery and a golf destination. San Diego - World famous zoo and safari park. Good Luck!! Happy Travelling!!

Starting from North, Seattle - the city is beautiful during summers, move down to Portland - for tax free shopping, to San Francisco, to Yosemite National Park, Death Valley National Park, and Zion National Park, to Las Vegas, followed by a beach experience in San Diego.
