You need a vehicle permit and a entry permit although the state is in india but its border is adjacent to china and pakistan and security reasons you need to verify yourself by showing any government approved id.

Going Leh via Srinagar or Manali do not require any specific permit. Inner permit is required to visit restricted areas like Nubra, Hanle village, Khardung La, Pangong Tso, Tso Moriri, etc. Rest you need to show a valid Govt. ID proof.

Any govt id would be enough along with documents related to the bike (DL, insurance and PUC) .. for some specific places like nubra, hundar, tso mori etc you would need to get the permit from the required check points.
