Hi,
This can be the best route - Delhi → Neemrana → Shahpura → Jaipur → Nagaur → Jaisalmer, and you can halt at Jaipur. It's a 14 hours straight drive, but of couse, stopping at Jaipur would make it a more comfortable journey!

Directly go to Jaipur and then take a train..its roughly 12 hours journey...... there are a plenty of hotels near the sunset point.... otherwise u may go for desert camps....
