Very very bumpy road, but with great views. If you plan to take any elders or small kids, better to avoid. Even not ok for all ages if you have any health issues. Literally there is no road. It's just a path. Out of 14 kms, 7 kms was ok. But for the remaining 7 kms we took 1 hour, which says the difficulty of this path. But once you overcomes this pain you are in great world. I can't imagine we have this kind of places in South India When compared to this, pothamedu view point & top station is nothing. From here you can enjoy better view than top station. If you can't take this road, then go for top station. Else better take this trip. Continuously we went for 2 days to this place. First day we missed the sunrise due to our driver's fault (he had a strong booze last night & it showed in the reading, so they haven't allowed him & we waited for another driver to come, which is nice to know that we follow strong protocols to save the places like this) Seeing sunrise was out of world. I took some photos, but the real feel can't be captured. So go early & enjoy the sunrise & then later take some photos. You can see the clouds overflowing from nearby mountains like water overflowing from Dam. Full 360 degree view is great to watch & bonus is... This place has less crowd. So sit & enjoy your moment. There is a nearby 5km trek to meesapulimala, which is too good than kolukkumalai, butt unfortunately trek was not allowed during our trip due to kurangani fire issue. Butt later a year after I am planning to make this trip again with meesapulimala trek. Hope above helps you

Hey Ganesh, Kolukkamalai has the highest tea estate in the world ... and the Trek to this page is a true Adventure by itself ... trek is easy to moderate... First you ought to reach Bodiyakunur and from there hire an auto or Jeep and reach Kurangani, the starting point of the Trek which is 20 Kms from Bodiyakunur ... The entire Trek from the startung point is around 12 Kms and will easily take 4 to 6 hrs to reach the top ... So before you leave for the trek inform your Jeep guy to be on the top of the hill and you can come back from Kolukkamalai back once you are done with trek .. there's no accommodation in Kolukkamalai and hence you need to come to town called suryanelli where you can get hotel stays ... the Jeep ride from top to suryanelli is 10 Kms of humpy bumpy ride which would easily take around 90 minutes to bottom ... Don't miss to carry your camera with you and also hydrate yourself with energy drinks on the trek till top ... Happy Trekking and Happy Travelling Bro!!!

There are two camp sites base on these places. One is Camp Woody at Anayirangal Valley from where Kolukkumalai Trekking is happening. This is a family friendly campsite. Secured stays are provided at tents (which is a damn great experience) along with beds, pillows, food, restrooms etc... Another one is Meeshapuli Valley Camp located at the very center of a tea plantation. This is more of a bachelors camp. Secured tent stays with food, beds & blankets, restrooms etc are provided here. Campfire and BBQs are available at both camps. I have personally visited Camp Woody and the experience was marvelous. Try campper.com , through which is what I have booked my campings.
