Hey, Your plan sounds great. Pune is a cool destination for backpacking trips. To get that pure traveller kind of experience, travel in local buses, shared cabs/autos for commuting in the city. There are so many good backpacker hostels in Pune. I will suggest you stay in a dorm where you will meet travellers from different regions and cultures. Eat in a local way by visiting street food sites in Pune. Checkout below guides for Pune. Happy Travelling!
