Around Bhopal within 50-60 km you have Sanchi, Bhimbetka, Bhojpur. A little farther away around 250 km, you also have Pachmarhi, a pretty little hill station.

Day 1 : Bhimbetka rock shelters, an UNESCO heritage site - Approx 35 kms from city. Time to Visit- Better to visit by 9, even before tourists start flocking. Mode of Transport:- Many buses ply on the way from city. Day 2: Sanchi Stupa and Udayagiri Caves in Vidisha Sanchi - One more UNESCO heritage site - 45 kms from city. Time to Visit- Early morning till noon. Vidisha - 10 kms from Sanchi, this place is famous for udayagiri caves. Time to Visit- After visiting Sanchi, you can visit this place in evening. Mode of Transport - Buses do ply to sanchi and then to vidisha, Around Vidisha it's better to hire an auto for a round trip - bargaining is must to get as low fare as possible. Day 3:- Van Vihar National Park and Taj Ul Masajid within the city. Better to visit in the evening for a sunset for park. It's closed on Fridays. Day 4:- Just flock around city and can also visit the Bhojtal lake for a beautiful sunrise.
