Wayanad is a must visit. You can cover some places in Karnataka and some in Kerela that are nearby. This way you'll get best of both worlds. Maybe Coorg, Bandipur in Karnataka and then come towards Wayanad in Kerela and Kunnur.

Karnataka is best with huge number of hill stations and Trip spots like Chikkmangaluru, Coorg, Mysore, Hampi, Halebedu, Beluru, Kudremukh etc

Karnataka has a lot of beautifull places but i prefer kerala because it has a different kind of beauty. Kerala also known as the "God's own country" for a reason

Start with Hampi, Then Move to Karwar, Then Murudeshwar n Om Beach, Then Udupi Then move to Coorg visit Madikeri , Abbey Fall, Mangalore Now u can return to Bangalore via Mysore n in between Bandipur National Park

I Would suggest doing a road trip from kerala, allepey to gokarna in karnataka. This is the most scenic route ever right along the beach!
