Connecticut Historical Society Museum
A Colonial Revival home houses the Connecticut Historical Society's holdings. Curtis Veeder, an inventor, used to be the owner of this home. There are more than 200,000 pieces in this collection, including pictures, noteworthy exhibitions, and manuscripts from periodicals going back to the 1600s. More than 500 artifacts from this collection have been presented. Women's suffrage, WWII propaganda posters, traditional folk artists, Victorian clothing, costumes from Hartford's West Indian Community, other themes in New England history and culture, and Inn & Tavern Signs of Connecticut are all included in this, the state's largest and most interesting collection.
