Usually there is no issue regarding the picture upload quality .sometimes it just takes time to load completely . also it might seem poor quality when on full screen but when you click on the picture actually it is original quality (so don't worry about this )
And regarding the word limit , please check if you are publishing trip or photo blog. because there's a word limit for photo blogs but there's nothing like that for trips
