Hi Sravya, if you would like to explore some colourful culture with history, you can opt to travel to Rajasthan. There are a number of places you can visit in Rajasthan but if you're a first timer to the state, I would recommend that you should add Jaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer to the list and spare a good 10 days for the same. If you are looking towards planning a shorter trip like 2N / 3D, you can consider Udaipur.

Hi. I would suggest you to visit Kashmir. The weather in September is quite pleasant, not too hot and not too cold. And this is the season in which you would be able to cover all the places. And the places are worth to see. Do. Stay in a houseboat atleast for a night.

Hey Sravya! Plan your trip in mountains between September end to October start. The rains will not be there. Otherwise you can defienlty visit Rajasthan (Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Kumbhalgarh, Alsisar Shekhawati etc), Hampi and Orchha. If want to go on a long trip prefer going to Spiti or Ladakh for unmatched experience.
