Mumbai and Ahmedabad are connected with some superfast trains which take about 7-8 hours. You can also book Ola Outstation and get driven to Mumbai or take a Zoom Car and drive yourself.

You can travel in Karnawati Express and being Gujrati it would be convenient if you can stay with your family in Dadar Swaminarayan Mandir that has a lodging and boarding behind the main Temple.
