The best month to visit Ladakh is during May when most of the travellers have not reached Ladakh and the city of Leh appears less touristy than during July and August.

Leh-Ladakh not only an adventure place but it consists of monasteries, temples, lakes, valleys and incredible backdrop. So go during the best month to cover all places without missing out anything. Plan your tour with help of best travel companies. https://www.funstay.in/ladakh-tour-packages. You can check them out for assistance. The best time to visit Ladakh is from May to September. In October and November the temperature drops drastically and it is too windy. Most of the camps get closed in October and only few hotels are working. In January you can do Chadar trek but this trek is very difficult and it is not recommended for families. You can visit in April but most of the places are closed. Winter is not a good time to visit due to water problem. As temperature drops and everything freezes.

Hi Ishaan, The best time to visit Ladakh would be somewhere between mid June to mid July. During this period, it is not too cold since summers have just started and you can witness both the barren landscapes and snow covered peaks. Any time before that would be very cold. Also most passes will be closed as roads are covered with snow and dangerous to travel on. Visiting Ladakh in August-September period is also great since its a safe period to travel, however you will not be able to see much snow covered peaks during this time.

April to Mid-May April marks the beginning of tourist season in Ladakh and the place starts to become alive with tourist activities. Restaurants open, hotels and guest houses get ready to welcome guest and various camps at sites such as Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri Lake commence to set up. Usually, by the second week of May, the crucial Srinagar-Leh highway opens up leading to a flurry of tourism energy into Ladakh. By late April, all the lakes including the Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri begin to melt, uncovering the beautiful colors and fabulous sights.

September is one of the best time to go to Leh as this time offers some of the best sights of Ladakh and better road conditions (than amid the Monsoons). As the peak season (June-August) is over, now the rates of the hotel are decreased. The Ladakh temperature during this time is Maximum 21° C, Minimum 5° C. The climate is cool and wonderful chill begins to look in. It in some cases you can find snows amid late September. Get a chance to enjoy the crystal clear water with glimmering sunbeams falling over the surface and making it sparkle. Also at this time, the road conditions are much better than the usual. At times there can be snowfall which can cause a roadblock. Visit some of the best parts of this region like the mesmerizing Pangong Lake and enchanting Tso Moriri and get a chance to learn about the culture and the beauty of this region. Also visit the famous monasteries and the stupas here while you pass through the highest motorable road.
