Valley of Flower and Hemkund Sahib near Joshimath

Uttrakhand itself as a whole is mesmerizing during August (post monsoon) as all the hills are converted into lush green valleys and clouds are always by passing you, however Uttrakhand has two sides of it - Kumaon & Garhwal. Kumaon leads over Garhwal if you do not want to go deep into Uttarkashi, hence my advise would be to head towards Mukteshwar in Kumaon if you are looking for a peaceful and serene trip. You can also refer to my blog here for Mukteshwar. https://www.tripoto.com/trip/roadtrip-to-heavenly-designed-homestay-in-between-the-hills-lap-of-himalayas-mukteshwar-5b7c1522124bf

Hi Haneesh, Valley of Flowers is undoubtedly the best Uttarakhand destination in August. Other interesting places to visit are Auli, Saur, Panch Kedars and Naukuchiatal. Before to venture out, do check the rain situation since it rains a lot there in August.
