The distance between Agra nd Varanasi is 600 Kms and train is the cheaper way to travel and is also convenient....
There are around 43 trains those depart from Agra to Varanasi ...
So,this would be best way and cheap ...

Budget way to go Agra from varanasi is by train.You can also book the bus through Redbus.I visited the Agra last year october.

It mainly depends on you how much do you want to spend on food and accommodation and travel cost. It is better to stay in hostel its cheaper and you will meet new people. Trains are the cheapest mode of transportation in India. Varnasi is not a expensive city. For one person 2k or 3k is sufficient.

10k would be more than enough for a 2-3 days trip. I did that, there are nice hotels which you can get between 1k-1.5k per night. Driving down would be better in these Covid times.
