Hi, I'll tell you how I reached Manali from Mumbai, I took a train from Bandra to Amritsar and then took Himachal parivahan bus to manali from amritasar bus depo.

Get a confirmed train ticket from Mumbai to delhi. Plan with the train which drops you morning in Delhi. From ISBT kashmiri gate you can get many busses to whole Himachal. Even you can have a refreshments in any railway station at delhi if needed. Safe and cheaper.

Book a train name swaraj express till pathnkot if you are travelling for dharamshala,bir side or any flight till chandigarh and take a bus from the particular last stop

Hey HII. I Just did same. But I travelled by Air bcz I got some good deals on ticket. But you can take train till Delhi (COVID is a concern though) as there are no connecting trains till Chd due to COVID, then you have to take Shattabdi till Chandigarh or you can directly get a bus to Manali. If you are coming via Shatabadi, from Chandigarh 43 busstand take HRTC bus. It will charge you around 700 Rps. All the best.
