A recent Spiti Tourism Society circular read: “It is with regret that we inform all travellers that Spiti valley is closed for all kinds of tourism activities till March 31, 2021. Tourism in the valley will resume from April 1.
It will open from April, currently there is restrictions for outsiders who travelling to Spiti valley owing to covid The entire Spiti valley is sensitive zone and hence precautions are been taken to avoid unnecessary issues. Locals can travel though. However it will open in April and anyway ideal climate is April third week or may onwards to visit and enjoy Prefer group as your cost will be shared and traveling becomes cheaper Do a road trip as it will be memorable trip. Do not try to drive in mountains if you don't have any prior experience as it is not same as city drive Biking is best option as you feel really connected to the surroundings. Keep enough cash handy as there could be atm network issues Start from Chandigarh or manali or shimla and reach kalpa then kaza then chandrapal lake then Rohtang pass then manali again a full circle Be safe and please do not litter in mountains.
