If you are looking for touristy ones, then go for Manali or Shimla. If picking Manali then would recommend to stay in Vashsist, a small village but it's worth staying there.
If you want to explore and looking for a bit untouched places, then would recommend Chitkul, Sangla, Kalpa or any place in Chamba valley. They are serene and very beautiful villages in himachal.

Haripur dhar , nayngra, jia valley, gwaldam, niti valley all are hidden gems even only few person know about it

For family with children, i think shimla-kufri and corbett-nainital is the best.
for bachealor,there is no limit.
