Hey Muhammed, The best season would be till December form now as the post monsoon the place will be calm serene and filled with lush green landscapes.... There are also many festivals around Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland which will grab the travelers. If you are lucky enough you can also witness snow clad peaks in Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh .... So winters are the best to visit north east ... Happy Travelling !!!

As usual best season for hill station is summers.But at that time rates and crowds are so high.So always go one month before and after of peak season.Winters are also good if you want to enjoy the snowfall and dnt much bother about cold..I have explored the Sikkik and Megahalaya ;so you check for the budget itinerary tips on my posts on tripoto and you can ask if you have any query..

November to Early January will be the best place to visit north east, similarly if you want to enjoy the raining weather, then go to Cherapunji in the month of June..

Northeast is beautiful during springs as the mountains are filled with beautiful flowers and the weather is also pretty descent. specifically if you plan to visit Sikkim, the India China market opens from September till March end. so the ideal time would be mid March to early may. although it depends a lot on personal choice as well. If you love visiting mountains when they are snow clad, winters is probably the time for you.

If you want to visit Shillong which is a part of northeast india..then I would like to suggest you better you visit in between November to March months.

Though, in general, November to May are the best months to visit North East India as the weather is quite pleasant during this time.
If you're looking for a respite from the heat, you visit during summers, and if you wish to witness nature at its best, you can visit during the monsoon.
