If you're looking for a respite from the heat, you visit during summers, and if you wish to witness nature at its best, you can visit during the monsoon. Though, in general, November to May are the best months to visit North East India as the weather is quite pleasant during this time. 1) Tawang: If you wanna experience the true beauty of North East, Arunachal Pradesh is a must visit. You will pass through mountains, rivers, snowfalls, rains and much more. If you are a bike riding enthusiast, then it's a treat for you. Bhalukpong to Tawang is the litmus test for every biker. Passing the Sela Pass is an absolute thriller. 2) Majuli: This is a river island surrounded by Brahmaputra river. Evening time boat riding to this place is once in a lifetime experience. You will enjoy this ride if you are a nature lover. At Majuli, you can see Monasteries, experience Mask making and stay at Bamboo huts. These bamboo huts will be a great place to relax and enjoy your leisure time. 3) The Grand canyon: This is an unexplored place in Shillong. The morning scenic view is a feast to your eyes. It will take 1.30 hours to reach here from main city. Though, we were not able to capture its beauty through lens, we have taken few pics (Refer below). You must experience this yourself. You can also do trekking here. 4) Living Roots Bridge, Cherrapunji: The Living Roots bridge should be at top in your list. You need to do a 2 hour trekking to reach this Double Roots Bridge and will take 3 hours to return. On the way you will cross 2 iron bridges ( One bridge is very old and another one is very new). The entire trek will be enjoyable if you are visiting this place as a group. 5) Wahrew Bridge, Cherrapunji: If you wish to test your bike riding skills or you are an off-road enthusiastic, you must visit Wahrew Bridge.

North East India is an incredibly vast place, and the best time to visit is never really particular. For enjoying the seven sisters and waterfalls, you might want to be there in monsoons; because the lush greenery and rains are a view to watch! You can also visit Arunachal Pradesh during September or in December to explore the calmness of Buddhist monasteries, snow, swift streams and beautifully cloudy peaks that will make you awestruck. During the last week of November and the first week of December; there are many festivals in Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, and Nagaland; that is sure to grab your attention and keep you entertained. The weather in the northeast region is always unpredictable. There is endless rain in some parts which make them pleasant and bring in cold at the same time. However, if you are still hunting for the best time to visit; then it should be both the monsoons and winters. During the monsoons, there are glistening waterfalls and lush green surrounding that are a treat to the eyes. While in the winters there is sparkling snow that covers the entire area like a sheet. However, there are a lot of landslides during the months of monsoons, making it a bit of risk to travel on the roads of this area. However, at the end of the day, it is your choice as to what season you want to choose for visiting this pleasant place.
