I always go for self planned trips... u can save money that way. And secondly you are not bound by the Itinerary of Package tours... u have the flexibility of waking up in the morning at ur own leisure and exploring only those sights which interest you and visiting the restaurants of your choice...

Depends on location... traveling with whom and what's your objective or trip...if travelling with family for leisure than it would be better to book a package....if doing solo or with friends to explore than doing on your own would be better option

If you are either traveling solo or with bunch of friends then I would recommend you to plan your own trip as you get bound with the schedule prepared in a package and there is very less time for self exploration. You can even save money on the mode of transport you opt for.
If you are travelling with family where you will be visiting just the main attractions of a place then it's better to book a package.

Usually the self planned ones are good as you have option to spend as much time at a place of ur choice.You also have price advantage at times i.e.being able to crack a good deal by exploring thru various sites.But it also depends on the location u r travelling to.

Self Planned, though it will take a toll over you but its quite inexpensive as compared to packages; but if you are planning a foreign trip; then surely package

Hi.. for packages as well better to look what places they are covering based on your interest.. While doing that see if you can get better options to stay than what they are providing and decide if its worth spending the effort to plan or book a package..
Mainly transport is a plus in packages but these days all tourist places have pre built daily packages to offer.
