Sedan will be a great pick for Leh Ladakh but just make sure the route itinerary will be based on the basis of Sedan for more check my Instagram I have been to places with my sedan also if you have any question let me know it's a pleasure for me to guide you. I have been there to Leh Ladakh 3 times and still going this year. Instagram @rhnitinerary

I will check your instagram page for sure. Thanks
Better you go with 4*4 you will get more comfortable with driving as well as to passengers even if you are family of 4 then you will get more boot space.ya little bit costly than sedan as fuel consumption is high but it will be almost same as sedan get damages at lower ends, tyres and suspension so better to go with safari, scorpio, pajero sfx, endeavour hurricane.

Yes harrier and jeep compass will be good option
Definitely a 4x4. Innova works best in terms of suitability for the roads, landscapes, comfort (Innova is famous for its comfort drives in long runs) and a bit of luxury too! Not a very good mileage, however other things fits perfect!

Actually,we r 3 to travel and 1 is kid. We love to drive self. Innova is good but such a lengthy car wiith 3 to travel and self driving, not a good idea i think. What you think about compact SUV self driven with 4x4 & sunroof for 3 family traveller? Will it be exciting on roads of leh via manali from Delhi
I was comparing mileage with sedan which is in question here!
For family you require a vehicle which is safe and powerful. Most of the bikers used Royal Enfield type bikes fue to their high power. I suggest you to take any 4*4 vehicle according to your budget and all like Fortuner, Thar etc.

U r right but i think it is not good option for different age group family specially with kids. What you think about compact SUV with 4x4 & sunroof for 3 family traveller? Do wheel dia have any role in bad roads of hills?
HI, I think a Compact SUV would be a better option for you as you're just a family of three including a kid. No doubt Innova or any other SUV would be great but then it might be not the ideal choice for just 3 people. I'd suggest you something like Hyundai Creta or Jeep Compass. Given the fact that Comfort and Luxury are two important factors for you which make you a fan of sedan on long drives, these to vehicles can be your ideal choice. They not only would provide you with the necessary comfort required for travelling on such high Altitude roads but also would make you feel more confident in terms of driving specially if you're going to Leh through Manali-Leh Highway. I personally have been to Leh on my Hyundai Creta, and to be honest the my experience of driving was pretty much awesome. It was not a 4*4 and yet it managed every hurdle from pit-holes to Water-streams (Nala) on the road with quite an ease. Though I wasn't able to get much in terms of milage from my car but still I was a pretty decent experience. If you're a fan of 4*4 then Jeep compass can be a better choice than Creta. Hope this Helped.

Beautifully explained. I have come to a point after analysis that for small family,Compact SUV with 4x4, 2000+ cc engine preferably petrol,17 dia wheel, sunroof may be perfect for self driven roadtrips. Hope it will work beaitifully in Manali-Leh-Srinagar or Kaza-Spiti route. Thanks for suggesting.
Better to take a compact SUV which can give u comfort and also the desired space
