No need of guides. Just don't try to trek at night else it is safe.

Since there were hardly any tourists exploring this trek in winter, it made the place more peaceful. The frozen waterfalls on the way were mesmerizing. The air was pure and refreshing. This trek is highly recommended if you want less people around and at the same time want to get lost in the beauty of nature.

As per the weather in december, if you are OK with the chilled windy air and snow fall, you can probably go to Auli on a bike trip. But if you are not adventerous enough to handle the chilled wind and unpreditable snow fall, you can either opt HRTC bus or privte bus or by train whichever suits your budget. :) Happy Travelling

In December it is quite dangerous to bike trip especially on the snow. Even if there is snow on the Auli roads than no vechicle is allowed to go Auli. Then in this case you have to park it in Joshimath and use cable car to reach Auli which is the only option.

Yelagiri - This is a perfect spot for multiple outdoor activities like trekking, camping, and star-gazing. Not only the drive to Yelagiri be wondrous, you will also find the trek to Peerumedu Waterfalls enjoyable. The route is filled with hairpin curves named after Tamil celebs, picturesque hills, and fresh and vibrant forests. A less explored place than others, the 3 km trek to Peerumedu waterfalls will be an ideal trek with moderate difficulty level and splendid natural sights. Distance from Chennai: 220 kilometres.

By road: Take a bus or a cab from New Delhi to Bhuntar. Change the bus at Bhuntar and leave for Malana Village(even from Kasol you need to come Malana Village). Hire a taxi(if coming by bike parking may be a issue to face) from the village to a dam area, a 3 km drive from Malana. Once you arrive at the dam, you will have to trek 4 km to reach the destination.
