Hey Amir, Well, Uttarakhnad is one of the most sought destination in India during winters. As an answer to your question there are many places to visit in this lovely state. I would answer it from the best to visit in an order and you can select the one you would like to visit... 1. The first I would suggest is Auli - The favourite Skiing destination of India. You can experience the best skiing fun here even as an amateur. there are many adventure companies who give away skiing packages if booked early. So, the things you can do here are Skiing, trekking, gondola rides, and camping. Buses do ply from Rishikesh and Joshimath to Auli. Stay Options:- Tattva Resort, Auli Nature camp, Auli Adventure camp, Mountain Rover hotel and many more .... 2. The second I would suggest is Chaukori:- Thsi under rated destination of Uttarakhand is a land of mighty Himalayas and famous for its tea gardens. Nestled in the lap of Himalayas, this place is 180 kms from Kathgodam railway station. Nanda Devi, Panchachuli, Nanda Kot, Trishul, and Chaukhamba are distinctly visible from this tiny hamlet. Stay options:- Misty Mountains Resort, Chestnut Grove Himalayan Lodge, and KMVN Tourist Rest House. 3. The third I would suggest you to visit is Khisru :- This one of the must visit prime destination in Uttrakhand in winters is located in Pauri Garhwal district, and is best for both solo and romantic getaways. Thsi would be a laid back destination, just to sit back and enjoy the majesticity of Himalayas. Stay options:- Government guest houses and bungalows are available. GMVN Khirsu Tourist Bungalow and Sahil Shikhar. 4. The fourth I would suggest is Rudraprayag:- Infamously called as 'land of Shiva, Rudraprayag lies at the confluence of the rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini. It is a pitstop for the Kedarnath & Badrinath piligrims. Also a best place to do water rafting on Ganges. The Rudranath Temple, Chamunda Devi Temple, Koteshwar, and Basukedar are important places to visit in Rudraprayag. Stay options:- There are many government hostels to cheap guesthouses making it easy and affordable to stay in Rudraprayag. 5. The fifth i would suggest is a trek named Kedarkantha trek:- This is a 6 to 7 day trek which opens up into what called as 'The best winter trek' by India Hikes. Kedarkantha makes for a terrific trek in virgin snow, with pretty campsites and astonishingly wide clearings in the forests. The drive to Kedarkantha takes you through Mussoorie, Nowgaon, Purola and Mori before finally bringing you to Naitwar. It is a remote route so exquisite that it is one of the most beautiful drives in the Indian Himalayas. Right from the Kedarkantha base camp, youll see stunning 360 degree views of famous mountain summits and are jaw dropping. Book this awesome trek through India Hikes :- https://indiahikes.com/kedarkantha/ Happy Winter Travelling!!!

You can go to Dehradun, Mussoorie and Rishikesh or choose a totally offbeat destination like Almora or Auli. Also Landour is very serene place just a few kilometers away from Mussoorie.

Hey, if you are not a native of Kolkata then this one is for you. Planning to visit Kolkata during forthcoming days? This is one of the best time to visit city of joy as it is getting ready for Durga Puja. Do give a visit to Kumartuli where idols of Hindu Gods & Goddesses are being prepared. It's easiest to take a taxi (travel time is around 30 minutes from central Kolkata) to Kumartuli. Uber is available in Kolkata, and the fare will be approximately 140-200 rupees one way from Park Street. Otherwise, buses and trains go to Kumartuli. The nearest railway station is the Sovabazar Metro. Also, try out street food options at Puchkas at Vivekananda Park, Kathi Rolls at Zaika, Park Street, Dacre Lane, Chinese food items at China Town. Places to visit: Victoria Memorial, Rabindra Sarovar, Belur Math, etc.

Hi, Best time would be from mid September to April so you have the chance to witness the northern lights. Starting from Mid September is when the show starts, when the activity is high, the whole city goes on voluntary blackout for an hour every evening to enhance the visibility of the northern lights. But be aware that during winter season, you only get 5 hours of day light so that can be a bit hard. For accommodation, I highly recommend Hostal Pod Galaxy with the cost of 50-55 euros per night. For transportation and especially for the capital city you might want to consider renting a car because every place worth visiting is outside of the city and if you not used to snow and cold, public transportation can be painful. For food, well there not the best so if you can pack some food from home it would be a great way to save money. Try couch surfing to save some money for accommodation, you might get lucky. Keep in mind, it's a very expensive country so you might want to expand your budget a little bit. Enjoy your trip, it's a magical place worth every single dollar you will pay.
