Lot of hostels are there in North Goa and you can select anyofthem according to your preference, booking .com is a good option for that , in my opinion aerostel, the beachside hostel are good ones ..

Peak season - April to June
Shoulder season - November to March
Low season - July to October

Kedarnath is completely closed, it will reopen by may. If you are planning for kedar-kantha trek then you can definitely go for it. But as per recent situation please confirm it with local backpacking groups and then take the decision. You can do any job and travel.. well if you are determined try for defense jobs .. in military or anyforce... you can choose mountaneering and traveling as a sport and be in the expedition team
