Sufi Recitals: Did you know that the Nizamuddin Dargah sees Quawaali nights every Thursday evening and on special occasions. Agrasen Ki Baoli: One of the larger step wells situated right in the middle of the city (at Hailey Road, Connaught Place). Light & Sound Show at Red Fort: Though not really offbeat, this one gets missed by several locals and hence, we thought it deserved a mention here. Majnu Ka Tila: Delhi’s own mini Tibet, this place is a must visit for shoppers and foodies looking to sample Tibetan fare. Good Luck!!!

Owner, Sumit is really friendly and you can have options whether you want private hut/cottage or you can even stay in a tent there. There's gathering for the ones staying at the property where you can just chill, talk, sing songs, screen movie. In all its very lively and you won't regret your stay there for a bit.

Shoghi A 45-minute drive from Shimla (15 KMs in terms of distance), is the famous hill station of Shoghi that welcomes visitors with green hues of hill slopes with Pine trees. The range of activities that one can engage in at Shoghi includes rope climbing, bridge crossing, cycling, night walk, bird watching, valley crossing, etc. Kalpa Situated in Kinnaur district and famous for its Apple orchards, Kalpa is a small and sleepy village. The place is perfect for witnessing the snow-capped Kinnaur Kailash Mountains that seem just a stone’s throw away. As a tourist, one could go for short walks and visit the monastery. In case you want to engage in volunteer travel, you may visit the local girls’ orphanage to offer your services. Chitkul The last inhabited village on the Indo-Tibetan border, Chitkul is famous for its fruit-laden orchards and mustard fields. The frosty Himalayan river Bapsa also flows through Chitkul. The Himachali architectural cottages with slate/wooden roofs are a common sight here. Chitkul is a paradise for nature lovers; they can just immerse themselves in the surroundings – lush green forests and snow-covered mountains in the backdrop of the river Bapsa. Another must visit at Chitkul is Kagyupa temple that has a beautiful, ancient idol of Shakyamuni Buddha. The carvings of 4 kings on 4 different directions is a must see. Narkanda Approximately 65 km from Shimla and surrounded by the Shivalik Range, Narkanda is a popular skiing resort for winters. The place is also ideal for those who want to spend ‘me time’ surrounded by the Shivalik Ranges. Barot On the foothills of Himalayas and on the banks of river Uhl, Barot is surrounded by the evergreen Deodar forest. The river Uhl in-fact serves as the breeding ground for fishes and the area has several fish farms. The place offers multiple options for outdoor activities such as angling, fishing, trekking, camping, rock climbing, river crossing, etc. Good Luck!!

Cinque Island is visitable with the general permit obtained on arrival in Port Blair

Hi Swechha, getting a permit for Cinque island is very difficult, you can not get in if you do not know any local. If you want to visit the place, you can get in touch with any of the charted boat owner, they have their way of getting the permit. So they can get you the permit and boat to reach the place.

A house party can be a good option to celebrate the new year in Mumbai. This can be a budget-friendly party option. You can have a good time, playing games at home. Either you may have food cooked at home or you may opt to order food from outside. This can be quite enjoyable. Other than this I don't think I would recommend places as you told you to have a 3-year child with you. Too crowded. Good Luck!!

Reach Cochin in Kerala. Cruises to Kavaratti (Capital of Lakshadweep) leave from Cochin harbor. You may book the cruise online. There are usually 3-day cruises taking you to 3 islands of Lakshadweep. The permits required for visiting can be obtained from Lakshadweep tourism office in Cochin. Good Luck!!

I guess your best bet is New Zealand. There won't be snow and beach together anywhere else around since it will be summer in May.
upvoteUpvotemessageComment
Well, Switzerland and Greece would be a great idea. But if you want to go on a less traveled route head to the Irkutsk region of Russia. May is a good time to go as you'll find snow and also the Baikal lake beach. Baikal lake FYI is the deepest lake in the world.
