The Forest Edge doesn’t only opens its gate to its guests, but opens a world of experiences that make you feel loved and cared for.
As far as my personal experience goes, as soon as we entered the gates, the first ones to shower their love upon us were Gulab & Jamun, the 4-month old, 4-legged siblings (who are now adults). And immediately the tiredness of our 11-12 hour drive vanished. We were not even done playing with them, that refreshments were served (without even asking for anything). Shows that the entire staff is on their toes when it comes to taking care of you.
Took a stroll around the place, checked-in the room and realised, each and every thing at The Forest Edge has not only been built with lots of planning, but with love too. Right from the pathway, to every painting in the Gazebo, to the décor of the rooms, to every small element like a washbasin, or a curtain folder has been thoughtfully placed there.
And one of the many best things about the place is the food. Every dish that comes out of the kitchen has a secret recipe to it. It’s love. The chef at The Forest Edge Tirthan can churn scrumptious Indian meals including the local delight Siddu, a dumpling of sorts served with ghee and chutney. Ajay, and especially Tanu (the owners) ensured that every dish served to the guests better than the previous one. And the cherry on the top, were the desserts, prepared by the masterchef, Tanu herself.
Ajay & Tanu were kind enough to offer some unique experiences there like making us taste the local liquor they call J Wine, making us meet the locals and learn about some unheard stories of the place, and arranging lunch for us riverside. Along with Mulled Wine, prepared by Tanu. It was surely wonderful.
Situated in Sai Ropa village of Tirthan, it is far from the commercialisation of Gushaini. The Forest Edge Tirthan is a boutique homestay, with a 5 traditional rooms, with all modern amenities.
The place is every reader's paradise, as the entire decor is themed around books.
It also has a gazebo, which is a common space, which serves as the dining space, and a recreational space for those who want to read, write, paint, have conversations or just relax.
The Forest Edge Tirthan also has a library which is open for everyone. The local kids can be seen flitting in and out of this corner of theirs, reading or painting the hours away.
Your time at The Forest Edge, would truly be a memorable one.
