Overview

Motology offers you a curated cycling tour through one of the most beautiful routes in the world, the highway from Manali to Leh. The tour takes you through some of the world’s highest motorable passes, through 480 km of wilderness, through an experience which you can cherish for a lifetime.

Like our other tours, the idea is not to cover distance, but to have an experience. I know some of the daily distance targets in this itinerary may seem aggressive, but be assured that I have tried to make it a good mix of leisure, challenge and fun. At 7 days of cycling time, its neither too less or too much.

Inclusions
  • Food : All the food you eat during the tour is included in the cost. I will not limit you to a particular breakfast or dinner. We take a lot of stops through the route, for the love of the landscape or for the love of our legs and lungs. Those get included too. But yeah, alcohol and other additional recreational drinks/food etc are excluded.
  • Accommodation : All the stays right from day 1 up till our return to Manali are included. The stays are of a variety of sorts. They range from dorm tents, to swiss tents to budget hotel rooms. Whatever place is best for the experience as per my view have been chosen as stay stops. Some may be very comfortable, some may seem harsh, but all will be worth remembering.
  • Backup : My backup vehicle will carry all the luggage that you bring so you dont have to worry about carrying anything but the essentials. The vehicle will help you out in the case of breakdowns or in case you need any assistance.
  • Photography : I will be there, riding with you, making sure that the memories you make are not just nerve impulses in your brain, but beautiful pictures of what I see. High resolution photos of the entire trip will be shared with you at no extra cost.
  • Return from Leh : We return from Leh to Manali by road. Comfort and convenience being priority you will either return in the backup vehicle or in taxi as per availability.
Exclusions
  • The cycle : You have to bring your cycle. I could get you a cycle for rent in Manali at additional cost, but bringing your own cycle is really the best as the cycles you get for rent are low cost MTB’s which really dont offer the best experience.
  • Any cycle specific spares : Tubes, spare cables, brake pads or any necessary items which you want to carry which will be needed to solve breakdowns. These spares are cycle specific so I wont necessarily have them in my stock even though I will be carrying generic items.
  • Gear : Your cycling gear, right from lights, helmet, clothing, shoes or anything which you personally use. This will also include any batteries or replenishables.
  • Costs of extra activities : Any activities which you choose to participate in outside the scope of the tour, including monument tickets.
