Here is how to reach Prabalgad/Kalavantin-
From mumbai - reach to Panvel station by train. From Panvel station you have 2 options- if you are in a group of 5-7 people ,you can book a 7 seater cab from panvel main circle to prabalgad parking spot. These cab drivers charge Rs 1000 for up-down journey for 7 seater which is figured out as 143 per person. Another cheaper option is traveling by ST bus. From panvel ST stand you will find ST bus for Thakurwadi village which is base village. ST fare was Rs 20 one way pp in 2019-20. When you start this trek, at entry point they take entry fee of Rs.50. If you traveling by your own vehicle, reach Thakurwadi village near prabalgad. Parking available at the base.
If you are not carrying any food, there are small food dhabas available on prabalmachi which serves Maggie and poha for Rs 30 and Lunch/dinner thali for apprx Rs 130. If you are planning an overnight stay at prabalmachi, these villagers also provide tents.. per 2 men tent charges are Rs 300-400. Routes are very easy and no need to take guide.
