Peb Fort / Vikatgad

Peb fort which is also known as Vikatgad. As the name suggests 'Vikat' means 'difficult', this trek is for the adventurous lot.

Distance from Mumbai to Peb fort or Vikatgad fort is around 52 km and from Pune it is around 140 km.

This time I decided to go on trek to Peb Fort (Vikatgad) with a group as a volunteer. We started our journey from Ghatkopar to Neral. We had breakfast at a base village and started the trek to Peb fort / Vikatgad.

Difficulty Level:

Initially, the trek is easy and gradually it becomes hard as you trek further. This is due to continuous rain and wind. On the route you will find arrows and sign, that will indicate the correct route. Follow them and they will lead you to the vikatgad Peg fort fort!

How to reach Peb fort | Vikatgad:

If you are travelling via train, the nearest station is Neral.

Via bus you can go till the base village. Fanaswadi village is the base village. Vikatgad AKA Peb fort is easily accessible with road and train.
