Puri District is a coastal District on the eastern part of Odisha, India. This District needs no introduction, being the abode of Lord Vishnu, most popularly known as Lord Jagannath. This District derives its name from the heritage city of Puri, one of the four pilgrimage centres of India.

Day 1

First of all, we travelled by train to Puri by Purushottam express.
Once, you reach the station you can easily take those magic cars which will cost about 800-1000 to reach your specific hote.
We booked the hotel previously which was 1500ight, and I must say it is amazing and also closer to the beach.
We rested for a while and had our lunch in a nearby hotel which serves extremely delicious seafoods and also other dishes.
During the late evening we decided to go the beach and enjoy the local sweet (named as Madan Mohan) and also enjoy the sound of waves.
Finally the first day went on like this.

Day 2

The second day was the most precious day as we decided to visit the famous Jagannath temple of Puri.
The previous day we booked a 'Panda- the person who arranges every thing for a proper and holy darshan of lord Jagannath. He also explains about the history of the place, the rituals and many other important things.

How to reach the temple?
I suggest you can take an auto to reach the temple with a very minimal cost.
I suggest you to visit the temple during the morning time.
The 'Panda' generally looks after everything including the 'Prasad'.

During the evening we visited the Muhana Beach- Puri, it is a view point.
It took 13 mins from our hotel to reach the point.
You can witness the sunset there, it looks amazing.

We ended the second with this.

Day 3

For third day we contacted the tour and travels in order to guide us for visiting the Nandan Kanan.

At morning about 8'o clock we were ready to go to visit the Nandan Kanan.
( I would like to mention that avoid the Sundays and take a full day time to visit this zoological park)

The entry fees is: Rs.50

It is a vast area. If you want to take safari within the zoo in order to witness the natural beauty of animals. There are 4 safaris: tiger, lion, bear, herbivore in its natural surroundings.

The price of the Safari is 15-30 per person.

If you do not want to take the safari you can take a round around the zoo which is also worth. You can see various type of animals if you just take a round around the zoo which includes, Tiger, Lion, Deer, Elephant, Giraffe and many more.

We had a full day for this because it really takes time to visit the whole area.

Day 4

On the fourth day we visited the Chilka Lake. Again with the help of tour and travels which costs about 2000 (again I would like to mention it differs from one travel agency to other) so plan accordingly.
I must mention if you are lucky enough you can see dolphins in Chilka Lake. You can book a boat to move around the lake, again it costs about 300-500/person.

After we visited the Chilka Lake, we visited a village named Raghurajpur (it was distance about 36.5km) where people made many things at their home and creates masks and sold them. The place is surrounded my talented peoples and around. You can ask the local people they will elaborate you about the place and direction.

Raghurajpur is known for its world famous Pattachitra paintings and is one of the must visit places in Puri. Raghurajpur was recognized as Odisha's first heritage craft village in 2000.

I recommed if you have enough time, you must visit this place.

The view was amazing.

Day 5

Finally on the last we headed to the Konark Temple.
(Konark Sun Temple is a 13th-century CE Sun temple at Konark about 35 kilometres northeast from Puri city on the coastline in Puri district, Odisha, India. The temple is attributed to king Narasimhadeva I of the Eastern Ganga dynasty about 1250 CE.)

The entry fee of Konark temple is Rs.30/ person.

I must say if you are visiting during the summers you must carry an umbrella.

Another thing we booked a normal car to reach to this place it costed about 1500.
It is a 50 minute distance from the main town.
You can go at a share as well.
