Bayfront Park

It is a pretty long walk to get to Bayfront from where I live, a pretty ugly walk too, but it is worth it when you get there. In the winter the wind hammers this exposed area, making it freezing cold and pretty difficult to walk round, but it also makes it great fun! And the coffee in the little coffee shop afterwards stings at numb fingers, but tastes so much sweeter. In the summer, there are plenty of people milling round, sunbathing, looking at the birds, breathing for a while. But I have failed to write about what Bayfront is! Bayfront Park is a 40 acre park situated off Bay Front North on Lake Ontario, harbouring (ha ha ha) Hamilton Harbour. There is plenty to see and do, visit the small beach, take a boat ride, fish, eat chips and ice cream, walk, picnic, go to a summer festival or concert, ride your bike or rollerblade. We like to find a bench, sit a while and feed some nak naks (ducks) as my nephew would have called them.
