Alaska with friends

Anchorage is the biggest city of Alaska, cheapest to fly in and is in the center of Alaska, hence convenient to drive to different places, mostly for day trips to Exit Glacier and Whittier. If you need supplies for the trip, this is the best place. We bought paper plates, napkins, chips, cookies, cottage cheese (paneer), coal and barbeque grill from here.

Exit Glacier is a beautiful glacier to the south of Anchorage driving around 2-3 hours. To get the best views of the glacier, you got to hike 8 miles (to and fro). We chose not to do the complete hike as fitness and rain were major problems for all of us.
