Goa has always been popular among tourist. But do you know that apart from its beaches Goa hs a Nature Lovers paradise. With over 50 percent of its land under forest cover, Goa is rich in wildlife. One such wild animal we are working on is Otter. An animal more elusive then tiger but receive much less public attention. We, Wild otters, a Goa based organisation, is currently working on otter ecology and behaviour. To fund our research we conduct tours to our beautiful field sites. From Mangrove forest to Western Ghats. This tour is basically for those who love wildlife and wants to know more about otters in particular. Also, we will take you to some really Offbeat places in Goa.
The tour will start on May 14th.
Itinerary:
13th May - Arrive in Panjim bus station. We pick you from there. Stay at our field station in Sanquelim
14th May - Brief intro about our work. Explore our field station and our work. Watch Camera trap images and video. Visit the coconut plantation nearby which is also a good birding area.
15th May - We take you to our first field site in the mangrove forest. This is our Smooth Coated otter field site. Get first hand experience how we work. Come back to field station in the evening.
16th May - We hit the hills. We go to small clawed otter field site. Stay at wildernest resort.
17th May - Spend whole day in this field site. Trek or take a dip at one of the many fresh water pool.
18th May - Come back to Sanquelim. We drop you at panjim.
So its a 5D/4N trip.
Total price - INR 9000 Ex. Panjim
The cost includes travel between field sites, food and accommodation.
At our Field Station, the accommodation is very basic and is shared and involves sleeping on the floor.
Food will be basic Goan Affair.
Maximum 10 People will be part of the group.
At Wildernest, the accommodation will be separate.
Note : The price does not includes Air fare or train fare to and fro Goa.
